How to install Subwoofer and Amplifier in a car
A Subwoofer should be properly installed in a car sound system so that it performs its required functions. Before following the procedure to install a subwoofer in a car we should be fully aware of the parts required for installing a subwoofer in a car system.
First of all, we would need some basic tools:
- subwoofer box
- an amplifier
- speaker
- speaker wires
- insulated wires for power
- ground
These parts are a basic requirement for the installation of a subwoofer. Next step is to choose the amplifier and speaker. From the basics of a subwoofer, we know that for best output results the RMS values of both speaker and amplifier must be close. Another factor size of the speaker must also be taken care of that which speakers respond well.
Next, coming to the main part is wiring of the subwoofer and other components which include remote and amplifier. During wiring, one thing must be taken care that we will take power from the battery. After that take a wire and take it through the firewall of the car. Prevent short-circuiting and place the wires according to the procedure which is usually provided in the manual of subwoofers.
After that audio wiring is done which is different as everyone follows a different procedure for audio wiring, the wiring of remote is done according to the circuit diagram. According to the procedure, after that amplifier is wired, we usually use monoblock amplifiers as they are very efficient in their working. All the impedance values must be taken in ohms.
We are basically wiring up things and connecting the speaker to the box, wiring things require technical knowledge which can be easily understood by seeing the manual of the subwoofer or by taking the help of professionals. Now after all the wirings have been done and the amplifier and the subwoofers have been fixed at their place we simply need to connect the battery and the power cable. After that our subwoofer is ready to play the desired music. These steps should be properly performed to avoid last minute problems and get the desired output sound we want to hear.
